Gown Friday: Luisa Beccaria RTW

i have fallen completely in love with Luisa Beccaria's spring 2011 RTW--i honestly could design an entire wedding from these beautifully soft, sun drenched colors and her understated bohemian glamour!  wouldn't your maids just look fabulous in an simple white eyelet dress? or a sassy, strapless floral mini dress?  and i adore all of the colorful chunky espadrilles adorned with over-sized flowers...it's making me long for summer again...

hope you have a wonderful friday (i forgot it was friday this morning...it's been a long week!!) and i'll see you on monday!

Gown Friday: Spring 2011 RTW

so if you haven't noticed i've had the HARDEST time this morning using blogger...anyone else?? i'm so sorry--embarrassing really... i cannot wait until i get a website going...yeah, that's right, Weddings Fresh is working on a new website/blog in the next couple of months and i can hardly wait!!

for Gown Friday i chose Lela Rose's spring 2011 RTW collection--to die for!!  definitely one of my favorites from fashion week so far (haven't seen all of the shows yet...but i will!).  i'm sorry the images are so small--click on them and they will get bigger!!

i'm working on a huge baby shower for a dear, dear friend this saturday.  she is having twin boys--truly a miracle!  so blessed to be doing this and i can't wait to share it with you.  have a wonderful weekend!

Fashion Week: Spring 2011 RTW

{Carlos Miele}

you know my eye is always on fashion week, ladies and this year it's been fabulous!  Carlos Miele's collection was an ethereal array of carefree, sheer silhouettes (a big trend this year!), Carolina Hererra brought the beauty of simplicity to the runway with stunning column gowns and inspiration from traditional Koren attire, and Christian Siriano was sophisticated chic with plenty of crisp white and voluptuous ruffles.  I also loved Reem Acra creative take on an American Princess, marked by overwhelming amounts of sparkle and glitter and whimsical layers.
i've got plenty more to share with you all, so stay tuned for tomorrow!

Gown Friday: Oscar Spring 2011

perhaps saving the best for last, i chose Oscar de la Renta's spring 2011 collection for this week's Gown Friday. and seems his collection has a little something for everyone. gowns with layer up on layer of ruffles and feathers to others with no embellished detailing at all, he has created yet another fabulous collection for all of us girls to covet. oh, and the gown above is just exquisite! seriously, i had to just stare at this one for a while because i love it so. yes, simple but oh so elegant and oh so my kind of dress :) alright ladies, i know some of you out there are looking specifically for one of his designs, so go get 'em and tell me all about it!!

Vera Wang Spring 2011

good morning! it would seem as though Vera Wang has further mastered her tattered-chic look and has created a spring 2011 collection that is artfully dramatic. there were so many of her dresses that were amazing it was hard for me to choose "the one" for the top of the post. in Wang's program for the show, she described the brilliant cascades of silk gazar that seems to be rising upward from the gown above as the "ladder technique". it's so breathtaking and unbelievable i had to pick that one. but all of them are beautiful. she replaced the striking black accents of the last collection with gorgeous soft touches of color--the one shoulder, pale lilac gown below was definitely another stunner. i love this collection!! which one grabs your attention? are her designs too modern for you or are you a Vera lover too? :)

Monique Lhuillier Spring 2011

it's been killing me that i haven't had time to post the spring 2011 bridal collections yet, but it's never too late to talk fashion and it's never too late to talk Monique Lhuillier! ladies, it's all about the slim and sleek, short and chic, and the new trend: the convertible wedding dress. yeah, that's right two dresses in one. and what bride doesn't want the drama of having two designer dresses to show off? monique was inspired by nature for her titled "field of dreams" show, with embellishments of butterflies, twigs, feathers, and even wheat stalks woven into her designs. and not to mention plenty of figure hugging dresses and sheer corsets for all you daring brides out there. i LOVE the one above--i would have been tempted to buy this one...and thank you for all your kind, sweet words. i am slowly recovering and fashion always puts me in a good mood :)

best of the best: spring 2010 bridal week part II

of course i would love to do an exhaustive review of the entire bridal week for spring 2010 but this is a wedding blog, not just fashion. and not to mention, i honestly do not have time to do it :) but that is why i have provided you with the "best of the best" so you won't have to scour through pages and pages of gowns, but you can just see the goods :) and if i have left you wanting more, well, that my friend is what gown fridays are for! so don't you worry, i shall continue my search and zeal for fabulous design and unparalleled wedding fashion and bring it straight to you! so to finish off our hot list for spring 2010 here it is:

angel sanchez (also seen above) has created such masterpieces in his 2010 spring collection! gorgeous detailing with feminine touches on a very structural design makes for a stunning combination! i love his designs full of clean lines, intricate millinery flowers, and crisp white silhouettes--a perfect spring romance!

i am so happy to see vera wang continue with color in her collection. as i have said before, not all brides will want to wear yellow or perhaps black...as it was a dream come true for the fashion designer to create a black wedding gown (not shown and black? really?)...but you can't deny the beauty of a soft blush taffeta gown. right? and for all of you vera lovers: thanks to her hard work and graciousness she has given us the same intricate and chic design but at more reasonable prices for these very unreasonable economic times--some of her gowns are under $3,000!! oh my goodness, i may have to convince my husband i need another wedding dress just for good measure :)

jenny packham continues to dazzle us with her vintage hollywood inspired gowns--love them!!

reem acra brought a sense of royalty to the runway with his fairy-tale inspired collection. in an effort to beautifully detract us all from doom and gloom, he said, "I had enough of fashion, fashion, fashion. I wanted this to be dreamy, dreamy, dreamy..." well said! who doesn't want to get lost in the thoughts of cinderella, snow white, or sleeping beauty? sleeping beauty is my favorite damsel in waiting...though i don't know which of his gowns is her. but i'll take the middle one :)

oh the sweetest thing...yes, and finally we have melissa sweet. wonderfully romantic! can't get enough of this first gown. ah! breathtaking!

...oh dear...i must add these two gown stand-outs! platinum for priscilla of boston & anna maier/ulla-maija couture, respectively.

okay! i'm done...for now :)
see you tomorrow for a special edition of gown friday!
